Emergency Notifications and MCC MyAlert
McLennan Community College uses multiple communication methods to notify the College community of emergencies and significant safety conditions.
The College's emergency notification system may use:
- MCC MyAlert/RAVE
- MCC employee and student email
- InformaCast audio/telephone messaging
- College web resources
- Social media
- Microsoft Teams
- Other communication methods appropriate to the situation
The College Emergency Response Plan assigns responsibility for emergency notifications to authorized College officials. ISS employees should not independently issue or modify official College emergency messages unless specifically authorized to do so as part of their assigned responsibilities.
MCC MyAlert
All employees automatically receive emergency notifications through their MCC email accounts. Employees may also register cell phone numbers and personal email addresses with MCC MyAlert.
ISS employees are expected to maintain current contact information in MCC MyAlert so that they can receive emergency notifications when away from their computers or College facilities.
Possible alerts include evacuation, shelter-in-place, severe weather, all-clear notifications, delays, and closings. Employees should follow the instructions contained in official emergency notifications.
Emergency Contacts
ISS employees should update emergency contacts in Colleague Self-Service (MYMCC) and the teaminfo spreadsheet. This provides quick communication to emergency contacts when needed.
