Pearson Not Opening or Loading from Brightspace

Overview

This article covers steps to allow pop-ups and redirects that may be blocking Pearson web pages from being able to open or load from Brightspace.

Getting Started

  1. Open your browser and log into Brightspace.
  2. Navigate to your Pearson homework and open the page. 
  3. Once you are on the Pearson page that is not loading, copy only the base website address. This is the portion starting with “https://” and ending in “.com/”. For example: https://support.pearson.com/
  4. On Edge:
    1. Select the three dots in the top-right corner of your web browser.
    2. Select Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Site permissions > All permissions > Pop-ups and redirects. 
    3. Click the "Add site" button to the right of "Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects". 
    4. Add the link you copied in step 3 into the field and click "Add".
  5. On Chrome:
    1. Select the three dots in the top-right corner of your web browser.
    2. Select Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Pop-ups and redirects. 
    3. Click the "Add" button to the right of "Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects". 
    4. Add the link you copied in step 3 into the field and click "Add".
  6. Try to access Pearson again.

You may temporarily disable “Block pop-ups and redirects” (Edge) or enable “Allow all sites to send pop-ups and use redirects” (Chrome) to allow Pearson to function properly. This is not recommended long term and should only be used in an emergency. Once you have finished using Pearson, please re-enable pop-up and redirect blocking.
