Duo Bypass code
Overview
The Bypass code is requested when accessing a service and there is not an authentication method that allows authentication on multiple devices.
You may use the device on which you first set up your Duo account, provided it was enrolled with Face ID, passcode, fingerprint, PIN, password, or another type of biometric authentication, or another device that was similarly enrolled with one of these authentication methods, as long as it is not a phone call or Duo Mobile app.
Getting Started
You will need to add a new authentication method to your Duo Account like a Duo Mobile or Call number option.
- Go to https://mclennan.login.duosecurity.com/devices or scan the QR code.
- Log into the Portal with your MCC email and password.
- Select the authenticate method with the Face ID, passcode, fingerprint, or other authentication method you setup originally or another device that was similarly enrolled with one of these authentication methods, as long as it is not a phone call or Duo Mobile app. This is the option above the Bypass code option.
- Authenticate with the method you setup originally.
- Click Add Device and select from the following authentication methods that allow authentication on multiple devices.
- Duo Mobile app on a smartphone/tablet and allow push notifications (recommended).
- Phone call to your cell phone number.
- Insert an enrolled security key on your device (YubiKey for purchase). See the YubiKey section in the following article for more information: Add Additional or Alternative Authentication Methods to your Account.
It is recommended to add multiple authentication methods to your account so that if you have issues with one device, you can still authenticate with another device!
