Not Getting Duo Phone Calls?
Overview
If you are not receiving Duo phone calls for authentication, your phone may be blocking unknown numbers or sending them directly to voicemail. This article explains common causes and recommended solutions to ensure you can complete Duo verification successfully.
Getting Started
Allow Duo Calls on Your Device
Saving the Duo phone number as a contact can help ensure calls are not blocked.
- Create a new contact named Duo or MCC Help Desk.
- Add the phone number 254-299-8077.
Use the Duo Mobile App
The Duo Mobile app is the recommended authentication method.
- Duo Push notifications are more reliable than phone calls.
- The app provides a faster and more secure authentication experience.
- Using the app reduces issues caused by blocked or missed calls.
Add a Backup Device
If you do not have access to a backup device and your primary device is lost, damaged, unavailable, or if you did not update your Duo authentication methods before switching to a new mobile device or changing phone numbers, you will need to contact the Help Desk by phone during business hours to regain access. Assistance is not available when the Help Desk is closed, and you may remain locked out, potentially missing assignments, exams, or important communications.
Set up a secondary device in your Duo account using instructions at Manage Devices on Your Duo Account.
