Duo Push Notifications Troubleshooting
Overview
This article helps students, faculty, and staff troubleshoot Duo Push notification issues on mobile devices used for MFA at McLennan Community College.
Getting Started
If you do not receive a Duo Push notification when trying to log in, use the steps below to resolve the issue and regain access to MCC systems.
Android

Connect your device to Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Open the Duo Mobile app and look for any pending requests to approve.

Go to Settings > Apps > Duo Mobile > Notifications and ensure all notification types are enabled.

Disable Battery Optimization for Duo Mobile via Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization > Don’t Optimize.

Ensure background data is enabled: Settings > Apps > Duo Mobile > Data Usage > Background Data.

Restart your device.

If you're still not receiving notifications, go to (Link TBD - will be available soon) to remove and re-enroll your Android device.
iOS

Verify your iPhone or iPad is connected to the internet.

Open the Duo Mobile app to manually check for pending approvals.

Go to Settings > Notifications > Duo Mobile and enable Alerts, Sounds, and Badges.

Turn off Low Power Mode in Settings > Battery.

Enable Background App Refresh: Settings > General > Background App Refresh > On for Duo Mobile.

Restart your device.
