Duo Mobile Using Microsoft Authenticator

Overview

If you are signing in to Microsoft Teams (or other Microsoft applications) on your phone and have both the Microsoft Authenticator app and Duo installed, the login process will move between these apps. This guide will show you each step so you can sign in without getting stuck.

Getting Started

Follow these instructions to complete the login process using Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Authenticator, and Duo Mobile.

Begin Sign-In from Microsoft Teams

Start the login process in the Teams app.

  1. Open the Microsoft Teams app on your phone.
  2. Select "Add an account."
  3. You will be redirected to the Microsoft Authenticator app automatically if it is installed.

Complete Sign-In Using Authenticator and Duo

Switch between apps to finish the sign-in process with Duo and Authenticator.

  1. In the Microsoft Authenticator app, enter your MCC email and password when prompted.
  2. You will be automatically redirected to the Duo Mobile app for multi-factor authentication.
  3. Approve the MFA request in Duo.
  4. After the Duo approval, manually switch back to the Microsoft Authenticator app.
  5. Microsoft Authenticator will then complete the process and redirect you back to Teams.

Additional Details

  • Make sure all apps (Teams, Microsoft Authenticator, and Duo Mobile) are up to date.
  • If automatic redirection does not happen, close and reopen the app you need to return to.
