How to Forward Email
Overview
This guide explains how to forward your Office 365 email to another email address. Forwarding can help you receive messages in one place, while optionally keeping a copy in your Office 365 inbox.
Getting Started
Foward from Outlook Online
- Log into Outlook Online. Instructions can be found in the IT Hub Article How to Access Email.
- Click the gear icon in the top-right corner to access Settings.
- In the Settings menu, click on Mail.
- Select Forwarding.
- Enable forwarding by toggling the switch.
- Enter the email address you want your messages forwarded to.
- Optionally, select Keep a copy of forwarded messages if you want a copy of the email to remain in your Office 365 inbox.
- Save your changes to activate forwarding.
Forward from Outlook
These instructions do not work for Outlook classic.
- Open Outlook.
- Click File > Account Info > Mail.
- Click Forwarding.
- Enable forwarding by toggling the switch.
- Enter the email address you want your messages forwarded to.
- Optionally, select Keep a copy of forwarded messages if you want a copy of the email to remain in your Office 365 inbox.
- Save your changes to activate forwarding.
Additional Details
- Make sure the forwarding address is correct to avoid losing emails.
- If you want to stop forwarding later, disable it in the same settings menu.
