How to Complete a Student Name Change Request - Former Students
Overview
If you are a former student who hasn’t applied or taken a class at MCC in over one (1) year and need to update your legal and/or preferred name, you will follow the steps below to request a name change.
Getting Started
- Access the offline name change form by going to the McLennan Community College home page and searching "MCC Student Data Change Form". Select "MCC Student Data Change Form" from the search results to access the PDF form.
- Complete and sign the form.
- Note: Signatures must be either handwritten on a printed copy or a valid digital signature that includes a date and time stamp.
- Email the signed form, along with the required legal documentation, to the Student Records office at studentrecords@mclennan.edu, noting that you no longer have an active MCC account to sign into the system used for the online name change form.
- Note: Based on your current status with the college, access is limited to MyMCC to access your academic profile and tax information.

- The name change process may take several business days, depending on the documents you provide.
