How to Submit a Prerequisite Waiver Request Form - New Non-degree Seeking Student
Overview
If you are a new student who has not registered at MCC but would like to take a course that has prerequisites, you can request a prerequisite waiver using the instructions below.
Note: If you are an existing non-degree seeking (i.e. transient) student with an active MCC account that still has access to Brightspace and student email, please use the Prerequisite Waiver Request Form instead. See the What username do I use? article for Etrieve login instructions.
Getting Started
You’ll need to email Student Records with specific information so they can review your request and determine if a waiver can be granted.
- Send an email to: studentrecords@mclennan.edu
- Include the following information in your email:
- Your full name.
- Your MCC student ID number.
- The course you want to register for at MCC.
- The name of the institution where you completed the prerequisite.
- Attach a copy of your transcript showing completion of the prerequisite if it has not already been submitted to Admissions.
- Wait for a response from Student Records. They will copy the appropriate staff so the request is documented for future follow-up.
Additional Details
- Be sure to include all the requested information to avoid delays in your request.
- You will still need to submit your official transcript to the Admissions Office for your record to be updated permanently.
