Sending Emails to the Everybody Group from Department or Shared mailbox
Overview
Messages sent to the Everybody group must be sent from an individual user account. If a message is sent on behalf of a department or shared mailbox, it will not be sent. This change ensures clear, direct communication between employees.
Getting Started
Approved Sending Method
- Send messages using your individual email account.
- Department updates and event announcements can still be shared when sent by an individual.
- Messages sent this way will be delivered as expected.
Including Your Department on Replies
If your department needs to stay included in responses, you can add them to the message while still meeting the sending requirements.
- Add your department’s shared mailbox or distribution group in the To field.
- Place the Everybody group in the BCC field.
- This allows replies to include your department so the team can monitor and respond.
Additional Details
- Messages sent on behalf of a department are evaluated using the visible From address.
- Shared addresses, aliases, and distribution groups are not allowed to send directly to Everybody.
