Dual Credit Chromebook or Other School Issued Device Not Able to Access Student Email
Overview
Some high school-issued computers have security settings that restrict access to websites and email accounts outside the school district. These restrictions may prevent students from accessing their McLennan Community College (MCC) student email.
Getting Started
Determine whether the issue is caused by the school-issued device or your MCC login credentials. Log into your MCC Student email on a personal device. If you are able to log in, your account is active and working and the issue is related to the school issued device's settings, restrictions, or another issue that your school will need to address.
Option 1: Use a Personal Device
If your school-issued computer cannot access MCC student email, try using a personal computer, laptop, or mobile device.
Option 2: Contact Your High School's IT Department
- Contact your high school's IT department or technology support team.
- Explain that you are trying to access your MCC student email on your school-issued device.
- Ask whether the school district blocks access to MCC email or Microsoft Outlook.
- If access is restricted, ask whether the IT department can allow access.
