Notifications Microsoft Teams
Overview
Microsoft Teams can notify you when you receive new messages, chat mentions, channel updates, meeting activity, and other important events.
You can customize how and when you receive notifications, including banner alerts, Activity feed updates, and sound notifications. Adjusting these settings helps you stay informed while reducing unwanted interruptions.

Review or Update Notification Settings
Use these steps to customize how Microsoft Teams alerts you about new activity.
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Select the three dots next to your profile picture.
- Select Settings.
- Select Notifications and activity.
- Review and update your notification preferences for chats, mentions, channels, meetings, and other activities.
Configure Sound Alerts
Choose which notifications play a sound and test your notification settings.
- In Notifications and activity, select Sound.
- Select which types of Microsoft Teams notifications should play a sound.
- Select Test notification to preview how your notifications will appear and sound.

- Microsoft Teams supports banner notifications, Activity feed notifications, and sound alerts, depending on your settings and device configuration.
- Notification behavior may also be affected by Windows notification settings.
