Calendar Access in Microsoft Teams
Overview
If your Microsoft Teams calendar is not appearing or syncing properly, it is due to McLennan Community College (MCC) not yet being fully transitioned to Office 365 email services.
This transition is scheduled to be completed by December 2026. For project details, see Email Transition to Office 365.
Getting Started
Until the Office 365 migration is complete, the calendar integration within Microsoft Teams will remain unavailable. The following information explains why and outlines temporary alternatives.
Calendar Functionality in Microsoft Teams
The Microsoft Teams calendar relies on integration with Office 365 services, including Exchange Online. MCC's current email infrastructure does not yet support this connection.
- Microsoft Teams accesses calendar data through Exchange Online, part of Office 365.
- MCC email accounts are currently hosted on legacy systems that are not integrated with Office 365.
- Until the migration is complete, calendar features in Teams will remain inactive.
Temporary Alternatives
While the migration is in progress, faculty, staff, and students can continue managing their calendars using existing tools.
- Use MCC Outlook via the desktop application or webmail to access calendar events.
- Join scheduled Teams meetings using the link provided in Outlook invitations or emails.
- Stay informed through official MCC communications regarding the progress of the Office 365 transition.
Additional Details
- Once the transition to Office 365 is complete, Teams will automatically display your Outlook calendar.
- Further instructions and training will be provided as the migration date approaches.
