Wi-Fi Network: Mclennan

Overview

These instructions are to connect to the McLennan Wi-Fi network. This is intended to be accessible for faculty, staff, and students. 

Getting Started

Standard Connections

  1. Find the McLennan SSID in your device's Wi-Fi settings and start the connection.
    • This SSID should be password protected. 
  2. Upon connecting, a window should appear prompting you to enter your username and password. Once you enter this, you will be fully connected to the Wi-Fi.

For faculty and staff, your MCC username will be your first initial and your last name.

Example Username: flast

For students, your MCC username will be your first initial, your last initial, and your student ID.

Example Username: fl0123456

Advanced Connections

Some devices, such as Android phones, require more information to connect to the McLennan SSID. If your device prompts you for more information than a username and password when connecting to the McLennan SSID, please refer to the settings below.

  • EAP method: PEAP
  • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
  • CA Certificate: Use System Certificates
  • Online Certificate Status: Do not validate
  • Domain: mclennan.edu OR mclennan
  • Identity: Your MCC username
  • If your device has advanced options, you may need to set Privacy to 'Use Device MAC'

Policy

  • For personal-owned devices, please turn off wireless while on campus or use the MCC-Guest wireless network.
  • Personal-owned cellphones may be connected to the McLennan Network. 

Troubleshooting

"Not able to connect to network" Error

  1. Please turn the device off for twenty (20) minutes then turn back on.
  2. Reconnect to the McLennan network.
