(WIP) Name Change in Voice System

Note: Name changes have to be processed by HR before ISS takes any actions. PT employees are not authorized phones by HR and may not have End User accounts tied to their AD account.

Phone Database

Open the Master DN SpreadSheet on SharePoint>ISS>Infrastructure>Voice https://researchvp.mclennan.edu/ISS/_layouts/15/start.aspx#/Infrastructure/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2FISS%2FInfrastructure%2FVoice&FolderCTID=0x012000F5C7AC1C3B1C1141B2AC876AF1738829&View=%7B3238DBE3%2DE919%2D4098%2DB0D9%2DB9AF0885A8EB%7D

Search for the user. Update name as appropriate, update Notes with previous name and date changed. Save changes. Note directory if unknown.

CUCM

Log into the Cisco Unified CM Administration (https://10.59.110.11/ccmadmin/index.jsp)

Jabber and Finesse

Verify that the user’s name has changed on the user account.

User Management>End User, enter first name and click Find.

Active Enabled LDAP Synchronized User accounts will be updated over night when AD and CUCM synch.

Enabled Local Users will have to be updated.

Click on the User ID to open the End User Configuration. Update User ID and Last name, click save.

Phone Display

Devices>Phone, change Device Name to Directory Number, enter the user’s directory number in the search box and click on Find to open the Phone Configuration page.

Update name in the Description field if previous name is displayed. Click Save and Ok

Click on the user’s directory number listed under the Modify Button Items to open the Directory Number Configuration page.

Update user’s name:

  • Alerting Name
  • ASCII Alerting Name
  • Display (Caller ID)
  • ASCII Display (Caller ID)
  • Line Test Label, if appropriate

Click Save.

Do the steps above for the softphone if it is configured.

Device Profile

Check to see if the user has a device profile for Finesse.

Device>Device Settings>Device Profile, change begins with to contains, enter last name and click Find. If user has a device profile, change the name as above.

Change the name on the long-distance code

Call Routing>Forced Authorization Code, search by first name. Change name as appropriate.

Voice Mail

Log into Cisco Unity Connection Administration https://10.59.110.25/cuadmin/home.do

Click on Users in left hand column.

Chang Limit search to from All to Partition, enter user extension in the search box and click Find. Click on user’s Alias to open Edit User Basics

Change the names as appropriate.

  • Alias
  • Last Name
  • Display Name
  • SMTP Address
  • Corporate Email Address

Click Save

Zoom

Log into Zoom as an Administrator.

User Management>Users, search for the user by name. Click on the user’s name to open the user’s account.

Edit user’s Last Name and Display Name, click Save.

Core Fax

I have not found a way to change a user’s name in Core Fax because the account is created by invitation using the user’s email address. The only solution is to send a new invitation to the new email address and delete the old fax account. Ask the user if this is necessary.

Log into OpenText Core Fax as an administrator. https://login.xmedius.com/mclennan

Send Invitations

Click on the McLennan Community College drop down and select Users Invitations. Click Invite users, enter user’s new email address, select the group they belong to and click Send invitations.

Delete Old User Account

Click on the McLennan Community College drop down and select Users. Search for the user, click edit and note Group, Outbound fax number and Inbound fax number. Go back a page and click Delete.
