Google Workspace Access for Employees and Students
Overview
McLennan Community College (MCC) automatically provisions Google Workspace accounts for eligible students and employees. These accounts provide access to select Google Workspace collaboration tools and are integrated with MCC’s identity and security systems.
Important: MCC's email service is provided through Microsoft 365. Students are directed to use Microsoft 365 to send and receive email. Students can log in to Gmail and retrieve old messages until December 12, 2026.

Authentication and MFA

The sign-in process includes:
- Entering your MCC student or employee email address
- Redirect to Microsoft 365 for authentication
- Completion of DUO Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when prompted
- Successful return to Google Workspace services (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
After authentication is completed, users will be able to access the Google Workspace services listed above.
Common Questions
Why doesn’t my Google account have Gmail?
Gmail is intentionally disabled for MCC employee Google Workspace accounts. MCC email for students and employees is provided through Microsoft 365. Students are directed to use Microsoft 365 to send and receive email. Students can log in to Gmail and retrieve old messages until December 12, 2026.
Do I use a separate password for Google?
No. Google Workspace access uses MCC’s federated authentication. You will sign in using your MCC credentials and, when required, DUO MFA.
